During the move, we uncovered a couple of boxes of change, that were the accumulation of me emptying my pockets at the end of the day for about the past 15 years or so. We seperated all of the change into piles of pennies, nickels, dimes and quarters… and today we took the pennies to a Coinstar machine at our local H.E.B. grocery store. There were 6107 pennies in the collection.
I just signed a petition asking CBS and NBC to reverse their decision to decline to run an anti-bigotry ad from the United Church of Christ. The outrageous message that warrants censorship? The denomination wants viewers to know that everyone is welcome at their churches. The UCC ad apparently ran afoul of the CBS policy by promoting the fact that its churches welcome gay and lesbian members as well as members of other minority groups, youth and seniors.
It only takes a few seconds to sign the petition… Click here to sign it: http://www.workingforchange.com/activism/petition.cfm?itemid=18182
There is a link to the actual ad within the petition, so you can view it and judge for yourself.
